Description
A great hard-wearing water-proofing TOPCOAT.
This clear treatment is best used as a topcoat to already coloured wood. If it is applied to bare wood, the wood will age and discolour over time with exposure to sunlight.
Used to protect and enhance wood when you want that natural look that allows your wood grain to show through. For a translucent finish you can apply one coat of a Royal colour with Royal Clear over the top, giving a harder surface finish.
Enriching formula for wood that protects against peeling or flaking. Royal is a quick-drying water based product that is robust and hard wearing. Clear Royal enhances the natural grain and will protect against peeling and flaking.
TOP TIP: If you want to make sure your wood stays true to its natural colour it's best to use a TINTED STAIN like our Royal Exterior Golden Oak. Clear coatings are to be used externally as an extra water-proofing TOPCOAT. If they are used on bare wood, the wood will still bleach and naturally weather in the sun. Depending on the wood species, it can silver or turn black over time.

Coverage: 1 Litre will cover approximately 8m²
Advice: It is recommended that 2 – 3 coats be applied. If 1 coat is to be applied for a translucent look, apply Royal Clear on top to produce a harder surface finish. Protek Royal is a high-build formulation, so each extra coat increases the colour and sheen.
This is a protective water-repellent coating. If your timber isn't treated with a preservative then depending on the type of wood and product, you may want to use our Wood Preserver ++ first.
