Description
A imposing dark blue with a stone-grey base. A colour based on the Blue Lias stone that is quarried locally at Hadspen, near Castle Cary in Somerset. It is also prevalent in the cliffs around Lyme Regis and Charmouth in Dorset, part of our famous Jurassic Coast. This rock is rich in fossil remains, its blue-grey colour provided by its iron content. A truly historic colour.

Advice: It is recommended that 2 – 3 coats be applied. If 1 coat is to be applied for a translucent look, apply Royal Clear on top to produce a harder surface finish. Protek Royal is a high-build formulation so each extra coat increases the colour and sheen. If applying to bare timber a knotting agent should be used prior to application. When applied to floorboards a top coat of breathable polyurethane sealant or varnish should be applied to protect against heavy foot traffic.
This is a protective water-repellent coating. If your timber isn't treated with a preservative then depending on the type of wood and product, you may want to use our Wood Preserver ++ first.
