March heralds the start of spring and hopefully some nice spring sunshine to go with it. The countryside and gardens should be alive with the promise of new life with shoots emerging and unfurling and buds springing up everywhere.

It should be a time of colour bursting with fresh greens, the vibrant yellows and orange of daffodils and deep blues and purples of the hyacinth.
