After planting one final rose and a few extra must-have bulbs, I’ll be packing my gardening tools away feeling guilty for not cleaning them for another year running. There are still two more trellises that I need to get some woodstain on and this month will be a great time to get them up and train the climbers in them ready for some fresh growth in the spring.

Now that we’ve all recovered from the excitement of Halloween we can embrace the grand spectacle of fireworks night. With days being much shorter and nights deep and dark, the early evening sky provides the perfect canvas for an explosive pyrotechnic display. Get practising your ‘ooh’s and ‘aahh’s for the pretty trails of colour splashing across the skyline.
