On Friday 15th March 2013 the Ideal Home Show opened its doors to the public and the rush was on to see this highly popular annual exhibition.

We had a vested interest in attending as the first day saw the Ideal Young Gardeners of the Year 2013 gardens being judged and that afternoon Alan Titchmarsh and David Domoney presented awards to the participating colleges and awarded Best At Show on stage at the main theatre of the Ideal Home Show.

Protek were very proud to be invited to take part in supporting the competition and supplied wood stain to Askham Bryan College and Capel Manor College to be used in their show garden designs. Being completely unbiased we thought the designs and planting in their show gardens were superb. The standard of design from the six participating colleges was outstanding and the judges found it very hard to come to a decision on awarding Best At Show.

We would like to extend huge congratulations to Capel Manor College who came away with a Gold Award, and Askham Bryan College who were awarded a Silver.
