Cottage gardens to dream of....
Tonight’s Love Your Garden went bijou this week with a Love Your Cottage Garden special. Apparently the Cottage Garden is the most popular style in the country.
Alan and the team showed us how to transform a tiny flowerless garden into a small but perfectly formed picture perfect space.
The little gardens were filled to the brim with gorgeous plants, windy paths, seating areas for 2, sweet summerhouses and colourful fences.
Each episode we learn something new. This weeks ‘trick of the trade’ was the use of green on the summerhouse and fence. It immediately gave the garden space and depth and fences all but disappeared. This instantly meant that the plants and flowers become the hero and the focal point.
On the Fence they used Royal Exterior in Forest Green and on the door of the summer house was Royal Exterior Meadow Green.
To draw your eye down the garden, to the summerhouse, they used Royal Exterior Ice Blue on the exterior and Royal Exterior Lime White on the interior. These calming colours provided the perfect place to relax and savour the surroundings, have a cuppa or grab a good book.
The Royal Exterior Stone Grey trellis really popped out against the greens. All it needs now is a clematis to grow.
What a perfect place for humans and bees!
We were delighted to supply the wood stain.
